My Birthday Date

So I had a great birthday weekend! I'm blessed to have lived another year so I'm thankful for that in itself. I have a wonderful family, friends, and life so I'm 4 for 4! On the night of my birthday one of my new friends brought over wine and cookies for me. We had a good time just sitting around drinking and talking. Always good to have some lady time!

Then Saturday, my family and I drove out to LA. Of course we have been out there a hundred times but I was hoping to see some celebrities. Well I did see one.....Joe Morton from the TV show Scandal! He plays Kerry Washington's dad on the show. My brother-in- law got a pic with him while I ran into Forever 21. Oh course I had to be shopping instead of getting celeb pics!

Here are my buys from the weekend:

On Sunday, my hubs and I went on our first real date since Valentine's Day! Wow long time right! That's what crazy work schedules will do to you. But anyway it was AWESOME!!! I felt great and of course I looked great. We went to the movies to see Baggage Claim which I give two thumbs up! I enjoy movies like that. So if you are looking for a laugh with a good love meaning please go see!

I wore my new top that I got from a cute store called L Closet. I paired it with some cute black leggings that look like pants, my see through black studded flats, and a cute duffel bag handbag. This outfit was so comfortable and I'm glad because we ended up walking around downtown before and after the movie.

I just love the sun in this picture! This is also the first time I have ever worn colored lipstick. This color is Rossetto by Rimmel Kate Moss collection. Yes, I'm 26, married with kids and I have never worn real lipstick......well I told you 26 is going to change me! Pow! Also those are my new gold studs that I got from Forever 21 that are pictured closer in an above pic.

Last but not least, my good looking date getting some money in his Kendrick Lamar inspired shirt! Love it and him!

It's My Birthday!!!!

Thank you Jesus!!! You have blessed me to see 26! My family is in good health, I'm in good health, and I cant complain. Not sure what my plans are yet but I do see buying something for myself in the near future.....tomorrow LOL. I never buy myself anything anymore. These are just a few things I have been obsessing over the past couple days:

I really need a classic black dress...I cant believe I don't have one already! This one is from Forever 21. I'm loving the detailing and just hoping it  fits me like that.

A good gold statement necklace. I love the girly feel of it but I could probably tomboy it up as well like I always do with looser fit jeans or pants

I keep saying I'm going to get a heel and ACTUALLY WEAR IT! I really want to but I have also been a flats and sneakers type of woman. Maybe 26 will change me!

I am really getting inspired by women on my Instagram putting together these cute looks with hats. I normally don't wear hats but its something Ive always wanted to do as well. Thinking I may give it a try. What do you think?

I have been eye balling this handbag every since it came out at Target. Of course the collection is pretty much sold out so hopefully I luck up. I have been a little cheap these past few years & I didn't want to pay that much, but I might have to forget my budget for this bag! *Sigh* its just so awesome! And a great color for Fall.

I love this entire outfit! I think I have a few jackets that are similar to this one and I'm sure I can get a cute top. My main focus are those jeggings that she has on! This look is available at Target......which if you know me its my go-to store for everything!

So what do you think I should get for my birthday?

Being Aware Saves Lives

8 Facts About Mesothelioma

I was recently emailed by the Community Outreach Director of the Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance. She informed me that tomorrow is Mesothelioma Awareness Day, September 26. Like many of us we have been effected by some type of cancer, whether it was ourselves, a family member, or a friend. Many people don't know that US veterans, military members, and shipyard workers are most at risk for developing Mesothelioma. Because my husband is active duty, I have many military members in my family and shipyard workers as well this of course has me concerned so I wanted to also inform my military community. Saving lives truly starts by educating people to be aware.

The link below gives a few things you should know about this disease. If you don't know anyone that can benefit from this but you want to help, there is a link at the bottom of the article to help this campaign. Here is the link:

Please pass this on to people you know. No disease should go unaware!

Time for Some Change

Hey Everyone! Have you missed me?? Of course I know you did! Well since the last time we talked I've had a few things happen in my life. Let me first start off by asking have you ever had something bad happen to you but you almost felt like it was a weight lifted off? I had that happen to me twice since we last talked.  I really feel like God is speaking to me. I haven't gotten all the signals correct yet but I'm getting there by keeping my faith high.

My mom came to visit us last month. We had fun in LA, shopping and going to the beach. We miss her and our East Coast family. Right before she came to visit I was so overwhelmed with always being confined in the house due to working from home, having two small boys, and one car between me & my husband which his work schedule had been CRAZY! The Lord heard my cry and so unexpectedly my work laptop crashed......I was out of work for 3 weeks with pay! All I could & still can say is Thank You Lord!

My big boy started his first day of Pre-k. Isn't he the cutest!!! I am excited for him to learn even though he is already smart! I want to start doing more learning activities at home with him and get him into sports.

I made my first vision board. How did I do? I want to be honest with you all.....I lost my job this past week due to company cutting back (inserts eye roll)! It may not have been what I wanted as my career or do for the rest of my life but it was my normal and it paid some bills. I had been with the same company for 3 years now. That same night I decided to make this vision board because I told myself I would not give up on my dreams and being successful.

Yesterday I decided to finally go off the base to a church I pass all the time called Grace . That service was everything I expected it to be and more! I am definitely going back. After service I found the first soul food restaurant I have seen in my area since I been living in California. Its called Felix's Soulfood and BBQ. It was awesome and I will be back there too lol.

Thanks for reading my post. Talk to you next time!
