Casually Bringing In The New Year

Casually Bringing In The New Year

I have been having some serious bloggers block lately. Even though blogging for me is just a hobby right now I would love to one day make it full time. This weekend my BFF gave me a great idea for a post.....she doesn't realize it but she did! She received a cute  pair of Michael Kors wedge sneakers and wanted my opinion on the outfit she picked out for them. Trust I would've been shopping with her in person but we are sadly 3000 miles away from each other. Then it dawned on me that not every woman is wearing a bodycon sequin dress for New Year's Eve........some actually may just be hanging out at a get together or even going to church. Here is a nice casual outfit above that no woman can go wrong with! Plus all of these items are winter 2013 must haves.

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope all of my readers have been having an awesome Monday. Today I want to talk a little bit about men fashion. This past weekend my husband added on a new branch to his style tree. He put together a nice outfit for our adventurous Christmas shopping day. Here are a few pics.....

The shirt and shoes came from Urban Outfitters and the pants from Cotton On. Close up pictures are below.

Date Night

Last Thursday my hubby surprised me with an awesome date night. We normally don't get too many of those considering I haven't been really comfortable leaving my boys with a sitter in California yet. Now that my mother-in-law is with us for a little while we have to take this opportunity to go out.

It was so cold that night I thought I was back on the East Coast! I actually had to put on a winter coat in Southern California......crazy right! Any way, I want to share my date night outfit.

Isn't this sweater AWESOME? I had to take it from my mom when I went to visit my family a couple weeks ago. My mom is a fashionista and loves to shop too so she has a ton of basic staples like this sweater. Its an over sized sweater with quarter length sleeves. This color just popped out at me and I couldn't let it go! I don't wear much color but if you have been reading my blog you know my motto..........

I paired this lovely sweater with black leggings, over the ankle wedge boots, and topped off with a long gold heart necklace. This look was easy to put together and comfortable especially in such cold weather. Can be worn for date nights, errands, and even play dates for my boys. I try to make most of my looks versatile.

Here is the great guy that took me out LOL my husband! His red Express sweater has to be the best sweater he owns! He has had it for years and its still in great condition. Men I know Express can be a little pricey but try going when they have sales going on, the pieces are worth the money!

Fun with Friends

So these few weeks I have been on a vacation from California. My husband went on leave so we could go see our family across the world on the east coast. We drove from California to North Carolina in two days.......yup you heard me TWO days!!! If you are wondering how its because we didn't stop at any hotels we just stopped at rest stops to take quick naps but that's all. Long story short, we got to North Carolina to see my husband's side of the family, stayed there for  about a week, then drove to Virginia to see my side of the family for about a week. This was the first time our youngest son had ever been on the east coast at all and he had never even been in really cold weather like that either.
We got to see most of our family, my husband and I even got to spend some alone time together. We went to go see "The Best Man Holiday".......that had to be one of the best movies I have ever seen!

Now enough about our much needed trip, its time to talk about some casual ladies night outfits. We all managed to dress casual. I want to show women and moms in general that they don't have to get all dressed up because they heard the phrase "Ladies Night". Don't get me wrong its great to get your "Sexy Back" when you go out but you can still look cute being comfy and chic. On the left is Fechon, she is the new mommy out of the three of us. She is wearing a cute blazer with a tee underneath, distressed denim, and flat boots. She is also rocking one of my handmade scarfs! On my right is Netaliha, she is the mom of a toddler princess. She is wearing a cute polka dot button down, fitted dark denim, a fierce pair of wedge booties, and that short chic hair cut is laid hunny!!!!
Fechon is the wild card lol.....she can rock many looks, Netaliha is the girly girl out of us three, and I am the casual in between person.

My look(in the middle)was inspired by the look below. How did I do? I know its not the exact colors and I wish I did own a pair of those adorable pink flats but I think I did pretty good with what I already owned.

My friend Fechon is rocking one of my handmade scarves. What do you think? I been thinking about selling some or even starting a business. Would you purchase one if I did? Send me some input or just simply comment below.

I really miss my ladies! Having best friends across the world is hard but when we do get those chances to hang out its definitely worth it!

Holiday Dresses

Holiday Dresses
So for some reason I have been itching to go to a Christmas party. I have really been in the holiday spirit! I even went as far as thinking to host my own Christmas party. Recently I found out that the church I belong to is having a Ladies Christmas Party so Im thinking I may attend but I need something to wear. Anyone that knows me already knows that I don't wear dresses on a regular especially not body hugging ones............but these dresses here are calling my name! If you are looking for a chic sexy dress for any holiday event including New Year's, you just cant go wrong with any of these picks. My center pieces are these awesome black suede pumps which I honestly believe suede is like one of the go to fabrics for the winter holidays, this black clutch with tassel, and CiCi's (Ciara's) long bob hair cut.

Everyone needs a LBD (Little Black Dress on the left) and having it be lace is just the icing on the cake! You can pair with some jewel tone stoned jewelry or simple gold and nice bold lipstick & eye shadow. I'm really not a makeup wearing type of gal but I'm working on it.....-------> remember my motto"26 is going to change me"!
The middle dress is Winter Holiday in it self.........burgundy velvet! Don't that make you feel like Christmas LOL! Anyway I would definitely pair this cute simple dress with some chunky jewelry. And the last dress on the right has to be my fave! Sequin Sequin Sequin!!! Color sequin gives LIFE! I love the sleeve length and the cut on this dress. I would go very simple with jewelry and makeup with look because the dress itself says enough hunni!(Two snaps)

How do you all feel about that hair cut? I think I love it! I cut my hair a while ago and it hasn't grown as fast as I would like. I hope that the back is as long as this once I take out my protective style sew in. Um really thinking about that color too.....well maybe not that light  because of my complexion. Or should I go completely jet black? Let me know what you think!

Hey Everyone!! The last time I posted on my blog, I was getting ready for a busy week. And yes it was very busy. I have so much stuff to share with you this week. So that means a new post everyday!!! Go me!! I recently went to my husband's and I 2nd Formal Military Ball. It was so awesome. I got to get all dressed up fancy again......I love that part! It was at a very nice luxury hotel downtown San Diego. The ceremony was exciting, the dinner was delicious, and we had fun dancing and mingling with other Marines and their spouses. And did I forget to mention that my husband & I looked awesome!!! The dress I received for free at a dress giveaway.......its an event that dresses are donated to for military spouses. The shoes & clutch bag I scored from Plato's Closet for a grand total of $15!! That wonderful gold necklace I brought for my birthday back in September from my fav store Forever 21. Here are a few pictures of our night:
