Check up Time

Check up Time

Today was check up time for my 15 month old. I cant believe how fast he is growing! Geesh!!!! He is 28 pounds now......future linebacker and he is almost 30 inches tall! I  didn't have my oldest son with us today so that made it a lot easier to get through this appointment. I like to be comfortable and bring less stuff as possible. We had an early morning appointment and it was a bit chilly. I wore something very similar to the outfit above. Sorry I am getting so bad at taking selfies now and I have no one to take pics of me : ( real sad face! Anyway, since of course Naval Hospital's parking lot was a circus, it took forever to find a spot and I had to run holding my sleeping 28 pound child just to make the appointment on time. Yes I lost about 5 pounds doing so LOL. Like I said before I try to bring in less as possible and lucky me after the check up portion, while we were waiting for my son's flu shot he decided he wanted to take a stroll around the lobby, into the halls, and everywhere else he felt he had access to. Ugh, I have to get one of those cute little wagon stroller things because I hate taking my double stroller when I don't have both kids. Any suggestions please feel free to comment! I carried a nice size cute tote that I had my purse essentials in plus a few things for my son such as wipes, two diapers, and sippy cup. To make this simple outfit pop I just paired it with a stylish printed flat shoe, which you can never go wrong with, and a pair of large gold stud earrings.

"How do you dress when you take your kids to their appointments?"

News Flash:

I recently received an email from a doctor at The American Recall Center about sharing a good piece of information. As you all know Veterans Day is this Monday, November 11th and I want to bring awareness to PTSD-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. A lot of Veterans struggle with this due to being exposed to traumatic events in the military. You all know I am a military spouse so this hits home for me and anytime I can educate or support I will. Please go educate yourself and read this awesome article  HERE. Spread the word!

Praying Week

Have you ever had one of those days where you just had to stop and say "Lord keep me near" because today ain't it!? Well lets just say I have had one of those weeks! Ugh! But The Lord definitely kept me near because I feel better mentally today.....now physically my sinuses are acting up something terrible. This week has taught me that if its not your time its simply just not your time. Here are a few pictures of the good times from this last weekend and this week. I will be back to my regular scheduled program Monday after some much needed rest this weekend.
Have an awesome weekend!

I volunteered this past weekend for The Fight for Children's Cancer . I didn't have to but I wanted to do something meaningful and when I saw a link for it I jumped.

Me in my volunteer shirt leaving the event

Went to a Fall Festival at my oldest son's school. As you can see he was a rocket. He is not one for sitting down activities lol but he enjoyed himself

Went to our church Trunk o Treat as a Lowe's Handyman

This is what its like living with 3 guys.....I'm lonely LOL

And my little one has been under the weather so he didn't get to go out this Halloween but I did dress him up like a Sumo Wrestler LOL! Of course even though he is sick he just couldn't stay still for a pic

On the Rush

Once upon a time before I had kids I was 30 mins early for everything. Even if I took my time getting myself together I still managed to always get to my destination early. Then I had my oldest son.......my time then dropped to 15 mins early. Which is good especially for your first child! Right! Then 3 years later my second son comes along now I am always 30 mins late almost everywhere I have to be!! Ugh! Of course for appointments I plan the night before to do everything for that certain day. But what the heck happened!!! I cant seem to get my life on a time schedule after my second kid. Its like he came and turned my life around. Now people know me as the late chick. If they only knew that's definitely not who I am. I have always prided myself on being early. Since my oldest son was born I became a world champion in the fastest shower taker LOL so that definitely helps. I think I have come up on a "Rush Time Method".

Here are a few tips that I have found helpful to make a rush day move just a little bit faster. Again these tips work for me and may not work for everyone.

1. Do the things that take the longest first. For me my kids take me the longest to get ready so I make sure that they are done eating and drinking then I put on their clothes and shoes.
2. Occupy your kid(s) with television until you are ready. Television is always a great thing when they are watching the right thing! (That's my motto on kids watching television)
3. Time for you to get yourself ready! Take the fastest shower you can! Like I said I'm a World Champ.
4. Something hanging in your closet is your best option because 9 out of 10 you don't need to iron it.
5. It takes me forever to straighten my hair so updos are my best friend on these days. Don't be afraid it looks messy because its in now :)

DIY Time

I was looking around on Instagram like I always do......you know how people are addicted to Pinterest well I'm addicted to Instagram LOL!!! I love looking at stylish pictures. Anyway I ran across this great blog called Small Fry up there and I clicked on the link to the blog. It seems to be based on kids stuff like kids DIY, kids fashion, etc and I just loved it. I saw they had a DIY for a cardboard airplane and I knew my son would love that. I had the materials so I started to make it last night. On the blog they used a brand new box and since I know my son....(the way my son set up LOL in my Kevin Hart voice) he will destroy stuff quick so I didn't want to spend any money on this project. I went up the Marine Corps Exchange, its kind of like the Navy Exchange (for people that aren't familiar) and got an old box. Yes it was a bit worn out but my son didn't care.

Well its done for now. We still have to do a little bit of touching up on some areas that are loose but for the most part it turned out way better than I expected considering the box was so worn out.

We may decorate it tonight! My son loves it though! He woke up this morning and ate his breakfast inside of it LOL!!!! Here is the link to the original post on Small Fry Blog HERE

Born to be Wild

Born to be Wild

Hi Fashionistas! I have been really wanting to start the whole mixing patterns and colors for myself so I decided to go to Polyvore. I love that site because it helps to bring an outfit together that's in your mind. This look above says "Me" in so many ways but believe it or not I have never worn two prints at once. Its so easy for me to put a client in something like this......but like I said on my birthday post 26 is going to change me! I want to start a "26 Things Before 27" list! I hope you can inspired from my look.

Thought It Was A Rainy Day in Cali

Not sure if a lot of you know but it rarely rains in Southern California and I'm starting to think any part of California for that matter! So I woke up this morning to check my Weather Channel app to see if there was still a chance of rain that I heard about earlier this week. And the chances moved up from 30% to 70%. Great right!!! Well that's what I thought......until I have been up for hours waiting for it and still no sign of rain!

Since I don't work right now my mornings are a little more relaxed so I started online window shopping. Yes I love to window shop but its also a list of things I look for when I go out to try on. Its a very helpful way for me and documenting it on my blog is a plus!

Here are my "What I Want Wednesday" items. I  am crazy.....did I mention crazy over Forever 21. If you look through my posts you will notice a lot from there. At one point in my life I worked a few blocks away from one and I probably went there every single day before or after work. So now you know a little secret about my shopping craziness!

Can I just look this cool! Isn't she so comfy chic!

Love denim!

This legging and shoe combo is a must for me! I'm not sure how my feet would look in this shoe because of the color but I am so willing to try.

She is wearing the same leggings and shoes from the pic above but I just had to show how they styled this look. Awesome!

Another secret about me is that I had a tumor removed from my back when I was in high school. Of course it left a huge scar. I honestly cant remember wearing anything with an open back since that time. But I am wanting to over come that!

I love this combo! This sweater is beautiful!

For some reason I couldn't find these shoes for sell on the site but when I saw them in the banner I said HOT!!

Hope you enjoy my picks!
