What I Want Wednesday

 

Its that time again!!!! What I want Wednesdays!!!! I love fashion, I really have a passion for it but that's not all you will get from this blog. As a mom have you ever been thinking you have no space for you or your thoughts? Recently I have been trying to fix up my home office. I am trying to make a space of my own in my house. My husband has his man cave and of course my boys have a play room.

 

This area I feel will allow me to reach a lot of my new found goals. Yes I have big goals!!!! I want to have a space for hobbies and possibly starting a business within the near future. I am a stay at home mom and wife that also has a full time job at home. I brought a book off of Amazon recently and I feel that every stay at home mom should read it. It is an awesome book.......REALLY AWESOME!!!! I have started to write down short term goals for me that would be 6 months or less and long term goals meaning a year plus. My goals range from exercising to paying off debt to getting a higher paying job.

 

Below is the awesome book I got from Amazon for $7 including shipping. Its used but looks to be almost new condition. Oh yeah did I mention that this book retails for $17.....OH YEAH $10 savings.....go me! I honestly believe every mom can relate to something in this book.

 

 

 

 

Here is my office for now. I am working towards a new desk, chair, and sewing/working table. All the other decorations will come after. What do you think about my space?

My Style Filled Saturday and Sunday!

 

 

Hey Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend but its back to the business! Today I want to share a little bit about my weekend and a few pics. I had a great time and also got to do something I love dearly......styling!!!!!!

 

On Saturday I went to a kids birthday party with my family. It was the daughter of my husband's Gunnery Sergeant. My husband made her awesome Tinker Bell cake!! Yes my hubby bakes and is very good at it too! Their home is beautiful and we had a fun time. Here are pics of my outfit and the pretty cake with cupcakes my husband made from scratch.

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Sunday I styled two great young women that are going to events soon. I got off to a rocky start in my day but once I got to the mall I think it really relieved some stress. My first client of the day was Ivory. She is going to a bridal shower soon and asked if I would style her. I styled her in a flirty spring time dress and a cream blazer. Both items fit her very well but she was in love with the look of that blazer. Both items came from Forever 21. Check out pics below!

 

Next, this young woman is Kali. She travels a lot and needed a few good outfits for her next trip, work, and spring time in Cali. Below are pics of outfits I styled for her:

 Another personal fave of mine! Love the denim top with cut out shoulders and the those printed leggings. She is loving the black and white printed bottoms.....yes but the pants above this pic are jeans and a different pattern. This look is from Forever 21.

 She loves this eyelet dress that we paired with a nice stretch denim jacket. Look from Old Navy.

What I Want Wednesday

 

 

Its Wednesday and that means its time to add to my want list. I never really get what I want but when I do I never seen to know what I want to get. In return I end up getting nothing. A lot of times I have to shop with my two boys so making a list keeps me from being overwhelmed. When I go into Forever 21 I instantly get the buy everything fever LOL. That is actually my favorite store if I haven't said that a million times already. I pretty much know my sizes so I have decided to start shopping online. Here are a few things on my list to get ASAP!!! Let me know what you think by leaving comments : )

A good wrap dress is a plus for a casual brunch

Stripes are definitely in this season and I cant get enough of a good chiffon top!

This flat sandal is super chic. This may be my first online purchase. I live in California now so I have to get prepared for the weather to come and get fashion inspiration for you all!

I had one fedora in my life that I loved but my oldest son started playing with it so now it looks like an old farmers hat LOL lesson learned! A new one is in order.

I have prescription glasses and believe me I really need them all the time. But every year I see all these cute shades that I want to wear. Maybe this year I will work on some contact lens. Putting things in my eyes freak me out......

This jacket looks so comfy. Just something to throw on to run errands, play dates for the boys, lunch with my ladies, or even a styling session for a client.

My Weekend/Its Raining Men Monday

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had an awesome weekend and a great workday Monday. This weekend I took my boys to a beach party. It was a little chilly so we stayed far back from the water and the kids played in the sand. After that my husband and I planned a family night out at Dave & Buster's. It was so fun considering that it was jammed packed. Here is what I wore to both occasions.

I had to change my outfit because it got even colder that night plus I didn't feel like bringing a jacket. That scarf is a diy!! The best scarf I have ever made : )

 

 

Now for "Its Raining Men Monday"!!!!!!

Here are a few head to toe outfits that I love from the new Gap Spring time collection. Colored khakis are definitely "in" this season. I love the tailored fit. A denim jacket is always a plus to have in your wardrobe. Stripe shirts, hoodies, and a great canvas jacket are must haves. Go check out Gap.com for their new arrivals.

This picture above is my grandmother & I at my high school graduation over 8 years ago.Today my grandmother wouldve been 65 years old. She lost her battle with breast cancer December of 2011. She showed me how strong a person should be because even when she knew things were at the end she NEVER lost her faith in God! She was the best grandmother a person could wish for. She loved children & she loved to help people. I was her first grandchild & only girl other than her daughter. We sent a lot of time together. I would play in her clothes, shoes, and accessories. She had awesome style which she passed down to me!!!! She enjoyed being a woman and wearing feminanie pieces. I really wish I had more pictures but since I moved my family back home kept most of them. I miss her calling me Grace, that was her nickname for me & I wont ever lose that.

 

So today I want to wish one of the most beautiful woman in the sky a Happy Birthday!!!! 

What I Want Wednesday

 

Hey Everyone! So I have been trying my best to come up with themes for my blog to better schedule my posting. I have came up with a Wednesday theme called "What I Want Wednesdays". I definitely don't always get what I want but I love to window shop and write down just in case I happen to get it later. I have been checking out Target in store and online. I love the prints and bright colors. I am more of a neutral type of gal but this Spring and Summer I'm going to brighten it up!

 

 

Target.com has a list of 15 must haves for Spring break. I count the list down to cater to my wants of things I don't have. I would love to grab all of these before this Spring. I have so much already planned!

Work From Home

 

 

Hi Everyone!! I am still trying to learn how to balance work during the week and blogging. I actually work from home with a well known company and I also take care of my two little boys at the SAME TIME!!!! Yes it does get crazy and yes it does get stressful but I don't think I would trade the convenience right now.......unless for more money LOL. My oldest son goes to a head start program twice a week so that takes a load off for a couple of hours. But other than that I am full time employee and full time mom : )

 

I know some of you are also wondering why dont I dress up during the week. I am all about fashion, style, and looking cute but honestly during the week I try to be as comfortable as possible unless I have somewhere to go such as a doctor appt or something important of that nature. If its just a regular day I need to have on my jogging/active wear like you see above. This is what I am normally in during the week. I put my kids in the stroller and walk or even go to the park so I need to have on my active gear. Sorry its not glamorous but its me......The Style In Me!!!

 

If you are a mom and you work outside or inside the home please read these statements below. They are so true!

 

1. Whether you work outside of the house or not, you’re awesome.
2. If you are employed outside of your house, know that some stay-at-homers are jealous of your contact with other adults, advancing career, ability to dress nicely each day, and time to focus on something that’s yours.
3. If you stay-at-home, know that working moms daydream at their desks about the time you get the spend at the park with your little one, dread the morning drop-off at daycare, and are considering calling in sick tomorrow just to get extra cuddles during the day.
4. We are all doing the very best we can. This mom gig is no joke and there isn’t one right way to do it. When you feel your own sensitivity to the word work creeping in, regardless of your situation, just remember there are very few who think their our own is ideal.

 

 

 



 

 

It's Raining Men Monday!!!

 

Well I have been under the weather since Thursday and today is the first day I have felt better.  So glad I can breath better. I really don't like being sick. I really need to rest my body more and I can admit that I probably should have rested a lot more than I did. When my nose is stuffy I can not sit still I have to be moving and doing things LOL! Am I the only one lol??? Friday night I cleaned my entire house, my husband had to tell me to sit down.

 

During the time I did spend resting and drinking my chamomile tea,  I was thinking of more ideas for my wonderful blog! I am going to start a Monday segment called " Its Raining Men Monday" fashion tips. Every Monday I will have a  post about men fashion. I have to support the stylish men too and also help the ones that need tips.

 

Today's post is going to be about 3 accessories to spice up a boring outfit. Patterns and color can add a kick to any outfit especially a tee and pair of jeans.

 

 

Scarves are going to be the "it" accessory to bring into the Spring season. Great for date nights or a night out on the town when the weather gets a little chilly after the sun goes down. I just recently noticed a lot of male celebrities wearing back packs.........of course their bags are $1500 name brands lol so you can get a similar print from Forever 21 Men and pay way less. Men you are going to need these bags when the warm weather starts to come and you want to ride those motorcycles. Printed belts are awesome with basic tees and jeans. Making your outfit look effortlessly stylish.
